Series
Ripples
Ripples shifts attention from figures in water toward the surface itself. Reflections, layered brushwork, and expanding rings become traces of movement.
From figure to surface
The body may remain only as a reflection, a trace, or the position from which the surface is seen.
Painting language
Repeated curves, tonal changes, and layered warm and cool colours create rhythm and record effects that remain after an action.
Between the series
Water Figures asks how a body exists within water; Ripples observes how the surface continues to hold movement and memory.
